Like other top cooperatives in Murang’a, farmers typically hand-sort coffee cherries before delivery for processing, discarding underripe or overripe fruits to prevent adverse effects on cup quality. Such meticulous details have a profound impact on the final coffee quality. This coffee is graded AA, the larger bean classification, with bean sizes ranging from 17\/64 to 19\/64 of an inch.
