Before Esmeralda Farm distinguished itself from other varieties and entered it in national competitions, it didn't garner much attention. Esmeralda coffee is quite different from other varieties, with fruity and floral aromas similar to Yirgacheffe coffee from the other side of the world. News spread quickly, and other farms that received seeds began cultivating Geisha coffee. The results were always slightly different: the same variety of coffee would exhibit different flavors in different regions, influenced by factors such as weather, soil, and altitude. This Geisha coffee from the Acatenango region perfectly showcases the rich floral aromas characteristic of Geisha coffee. The farm is located on the steep slopes of the Acatenango volcano, at an altitude of 1600 to 1700 meters, benefiting from fertile volcanic soil. The farm has been run by the same family for generations, and they have also built an impressive wet mill on the farm.
